So the past two weeks I have been very lucky to work at two different conferences with BigStuf. The first one was Orange Conference. Orange is by Reggie Joiner of ReThink. Reggie hosted the whole shebang with Lanny as sidekick. It was held at the Gwinnett Arena, which was also where Catalyst is held in the fall. The difference between Catalyst and Orange is that Orange has a more intimate feel too it. Whereas Catalyst is just so dagum HUGE. Don’t get me wrong, Orange was about 4,000 people I believe, but they were spread out over the arena and the conference center. Out booth was pretty awesome (pictures to be added soon). It took about 2 hours to build and was hands-down the best booth there. The walls we used as backing was basically steel sheeting molded to a wavy wooden frame. When we took some COLORados and shined them up on the walls it created a pretty cool illusion. The walls are actually pretty light and stackable. You could easily carry four or more at a time. Here is the first LOST location from our Hawaii Christmas adventure.
The Byodo-In Temple is located on the Winward side of Oahu close to Kane’ohe Bay, where we stayed with my cousin.
Taken from Virtuallosttour.com:
Inside the temple is Amida, at over 18 feet the largest wooden Buddha carved in nearly a thousand years and after carving was covered with cloth, painted with gold lacquer, and finished with gold leaf. The temple also features a three ton brass Peace Bell, and a koi pond.
So the location is used for Sun and Jin’s home, I believe. It is where we see that Jin (a waiter) is in love with Sun (heiress to a huge company thanks to her father). So check out the proof below:
Everybody ends up somewhere in life. A few end up somewhere on purpose. (8)
How true, eh?! How many times do you catch yourself or others saying “If Only” or “I wish?” Chances are you hear or think it a lot. I believe it is because when we are not aligning our plans and vision with Gods plans and vision we are missing out on HUGE opportunities beacause our God is a BIG god who has BIG things in store for us if we only ask.
What is vision? Well briefly until I talk about it more in the next post, it is thinking about where you want to be down the road. It is maybe what you want to achieve by the time you are age “whatever.” There are those of us who have a picture of what we want to be our could be. That is vision as Andy perfectly explains.
A clear vision, along with the courage to follow through, dramatically increases your chances of coming to the end of your life, looking back with a deep abiding satisfaction, and thinking, I did it. I succeeded. I finished well. My life counted. (9) (more…)
One of my favorite books of all time is Andy Stanley’s Visioneering. So many people wander through there life feeling like they have wasted so much time and opportunities. I felt that burden way early on in college and even my senior year in high school. I knew God was preparing me for a whole lot and I needed to make sure my vision was His vision for my life. I really didn’t understand that His vision must come first until my sophomore year of college when my heart just felt like I was being called back home. But, that is a different post.
Anyways, I am rereading Visioneering in preparation for things to come in the months that are going to require much strength, faith, leadership and discernment on my part, and I know that all of that has got to come from God and not from me. For if I were to rely on my self, I would fail miserably. So, over more than 20 posts I hope to lay out 20 building blocks that Andy talks about in his book. This is moreso for my benefit and hopefully like my previous post to flow into your own awakening and search for God plan in your life.
