40 Days: Yoga and a Fast

Tonight I did yoga . . . yes . . . yoga. I was bored. Everyone else was busy and I did not want to waste the night watching movies. I got home and searched through a container for my P90X set that was still unpacked from the move and pulled out Yoga X. I was a little hesitant at first, but I knew it would be good for my body and a great time-killer.

My body has had to adjust to my juicing detox and because of that I knew that doing the workout would not be as easy as before. To my surprise I completed most of the workouts and lasted all 90+ minutes. By the end I could barely keep my eyes open because I was so relaxed and my body was feeling better than ever.

If you know me, you know how flexible I can be. By about 50 minutes into the workout I had my legs wrapped behind my head and my knees on the floor. Staring at your crotch is something I am not sure if I should be happy about or concerned, but I was in the zone and doing better than Tony Horton.

I did not want the yoga to be over and I think it was a little tap from God that maybe it’s time to tackle my next spiritual discipline . . . meditation and solitude . . .

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”  – Isa. 55:8-9

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. – Psalm 1:2

Maybe I can make this a “two-fer” or a two-for-one deal. Meditate and memorize some scripture . . . we will see . . .
