Day Two was rough, but when three came around I felt the headache I had the day before slowly residing. My body was finally figuring out that I was not going to feed it caffeine. No coffee. No sweet tea. No soda. Day three ended also with something I have not done in a long time… I ran. I am not a runner, but for some odd reason I got a burst of all-natural energy Wednesday afternoon and decided to run a little on the greenway. If you have never been to the Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth County, you are missing out. It is a trail that goes through the woodlands with boardwalks and concrete paths. Only bikes and people who want to walk, run, or rollerblade can use the trails.
So Day Three was a success and so was the juice I made that night:
Happy Jappy (or Sweet and Spicy)
2 bunches of Kale
1 Cup of Spinach
1 medium jalapeno pepper
Like the name? It is my first successful drink recipe this week. Not saying that all the others were bad, this one just really surprised me.
Day Four was a busy day. My legs were sore from running on Day Three, but that couldn’t stop me. We moved a co-worker and his family into their new home in Cumming. There were about nine of us and it took about three hours. Gotta love my job! Then it was off to work where I moved offices! As the day went on I was getting more and more tired.
I usually start getting a little restless around 10pm. At that point it is a game of asking myself, “are you ready to sleep?” or “can you finish one more chapter of this book?” After going back and forth on this for about an hour I fall asleep.
One good drink I had on day four was apple juice, which was just two red apples. I also tried some carrot juice straight up and it was very sweet. I was a little shocked at how it tasted more like a fruit. So, if I ever need to sweeten up a veggie juice mix, I will add carrots.
