Simplexity

Okay. Maybe I have coined a new term here. Can you guess the two words that have been put together? Simple + Complexity = Simplexity! Ding-Ding-Ding! How do those two go together you ask? Well. It’s something I have been really thinking about lately. The SPIN leaders having been meeting about once or twice a month to decide what in the world God is doing and what He wants us to do for SPIN. And in the process we have felt God has called us to become less complex and more simple. No flashy production, no numerous programs, no grand events, no orchestra, just simple.

Pslam 46:10 says:
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

He is calling us to be still. It’s a huge clue that in times when we are quiet and just listen. When we go and talk to Him behind closed doors that we hear what He is asking us to do. But that is definatly not a simple task. Especially for high school students who live in a wired world. How can we tone all of life down to a simple SPIN? Of course an hour of being still with dimmed lights and no music will not work, but a program that is more intimate…more Starbucks-ish. More real.
